Justice Department finds no evidence Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during campaign

It’s confirmed, the Justice Department found no evidence that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The finding released on Friday goes against what President Trump said back in March when he tweeted, "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

The Trump White House never provided any evidence to back up their claim while an Obama spokesperson denied the allegations.

Now, the group American Oversight, a transparency organization filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

The findings detail that both the National Security Division and the FBI had no records of wiretapping.

The group said the news confirms that the President lied when he sent out that controversial tweet back in March.
