Man proposes to boyfriend on Splash Mountain in adorable viral photo
A proposal photo on Disney's Splash Mountain has gone viral on Reddit.
User Eugenius310 shared the story, along with the iconic photo:
(Proposal Pic) My mom told me not to post it on Facebook because she's ashamed of me, so I'm posting it here for the world to see! from gaybros
"My mom told me not to post it on Facebook because she's ashamed of me," he said, "so I'm posting it here for the world to see."
The world -- on Reddit, at least -- seemed to appreciate the photo more than the user's mother: it received over 41,000 upvotes.
Eugenius310 gave more of the backstory in the comments. He proposed at Disneyland with a sign his nieces and nephews helped make.
He explained, "He had no idea I was proposing and I told him that we should make 'shocked' faces for the camera. Little did he know I was going to be behind him proposing with a sign!"
"I quickly hid the sign away after the drop and when we exited the ride we walked to see our photo and he was shocked. I got down on one knee and asked him to spend the rest of his life with me. He said, 'yes.'"
How did they get a log by themselves? They entered the park early on a Monday morning, so there wasn't a lot of people there. Eugenius310 also told a Disney employee the proposal plan and she allowed them to ride by themselves.
The sweet photo was well-received online, with many congratulation comments like this one: "I'm going to cry ... I'm so happy for you."
