The moon, Mars and Mercury to form rare 'celestial triangle' this week

By: Lindsey Granger, Buzz60

The moon, Mars and Mercury are set to form a triangle you can spot in the sky on March 29th. It's called a celestial triangle and Bustle reports it'll be visible around 8:30PM that night.

According to EarthSky, at that time, you will be able to see a crescent moon form a triangle with Mercury below it and Mars above it.

The publication also notes that we may see the moon's dark side illuminated by sunlight that's reflected from the Earth and makes the unlit part of a crescent moon glow.

Experts say you may need binoculars to spot Mercury, but Mars won't be as hard to see.

If you're in North America, the best time to check this out would be early to mid evening.

National Geographic notes this is when Mercury will be at its "brightest and highest."
