2:55 p.m. is the day's least productive time

Not every hour of the workday can be productive, but there is a specific time when the odds of achieving unprecedented output and astonishing brilliance are the lowest.

According to a 2013 survey conducted by LondonOffices.com, it's 2:55 p.m.

Many of those surveyed indicated that's when they need to load up on caffeine and sugar and possibly even sneak a nap.

It's unclear why productivity takes a vacation at that moment, but likely reasons include post-lunch haze, general loss of interest, and simple fact that mental energy diminishes at a faster rate than it replenishes.

As a means of combatting the afternoon slump, experts recommend alternating periods of deep focus and total dedication to achievement with breaks devoted to activity or regeneration.

If that doesn't work out, there's still hope.

The biggest naturally occurring spurts in productivity tend to occur at 10:26 and 4:16, so you could just double down on those.
