Both Pence and Kaine will have to sell the trust they have in their running mates to the American public. Pence will be expected to defend Donald Trump's shortcomings, as Kaine does the same for Hillary Clinton. They will also work to convince voters they are ready and willing to fulfill the job as president if necessary.
