"Customers purchased millions of Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices this weekend, and Alexa devices were the top sellers across all of Amazon," Dave Limp, Amazon's head of devices, said in a press statement.

7 shock-worthy facts about Amazon:

The Echo Dot, Amazon's cheapest Alexa device, was Amazon's best-seller globally across all categories. It was on sale for a new low of $30, which is the cheapest it has ever been. It's also the cheapest Alexa device overall.

Other bestsellers across all categories included the new Fire TV Stick, the new Amazon Echo, and the Fire 7 tablet, the company said.

The strong device sales propelled Amazon to a strong overall Thanksgiving weekend.

Amazon accounted for 45% of all online transactions on Thanksgiving and 55% of all transactions on Black Friday, according to analysis by Hitwise. As of Monday, Amazon was on track to take about half of all the online sales from Thanksgiving Weekend, according to research by GBH Insights.

There was a record $6.59 billion spent on Cyber Monday, $5.03 billion on Black Friday, and $2.87 billion from Thanksgiving Day in online sales, according to Adobe Analytics estimates. Given these figures, it's not hard to estimate a rough guess at the billions Amazon has raked in over the holiday weekend.
