Decatur Accepting Requests For and Against Annexation

The city is taking annexation requests -- and petitions not to be annexed -- through Oct. 24. Find a map online.

As part of its 2014 annexation master planning process, the City of Decatur is accepting petitions to request annexation, as well as requests to not be annexed.

To be considered in the upcoming process, all completed petitions are due to the City Manager’s Office by noon, Friday, Oct. 24.

Between now and the end of October, the City of Decatur and the City Schools of Decatur will be gathering information and scheduling public meetings. More information about the dates and locations of the public meetings is forthcoming.

The City Commission and the Board of Education will meet together in a joint work session on Wednesday, Nov. 12, to hear recommendations regarding the annexation master plan. The time and location for the meeting have not yet been set.
