The midterm elections are in full swing as Americans cast their ballots Tuesday following a roller coaster cycle of politics. Voters are electing 36 senators, 435 members of the House of Representatives and 36 governorships.
The U.S. Senate is being closely watched as Republicans need to pick up six Senate seats and retain those they have to claim a victory in both chambers of Congress. This feat would pose a challenge to any policies President Obama outlines in his final two terms in office.
