Shabbat, Me & Rabbi G

Srochi Discovery Center, followed by songs and blessings with Rabbi Glusman and a visit from the “Weinstein School Shabbat Dinosaur.” Challah and grape juice will be served.

Foundations of Jewish Family Living Class: An Opportunity for Parents to Learn

When: Sundays, (Oct. 26, Nov. 2, Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan. 11, Feb. 1, March 15, March

22, April 19) from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Where: MJCCA at Zaban Park (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)

Cost: Member Adult: $65 / Community Adult: $75 / Fee includes materials

Details: Each class in the series is a little different; come to one class or come to the whole series. Foundations of Jewish Family Living provides you with the opportunity to enhance your family’s Jewish journey and continue conversations about Jewish core values at home. Your child has questions, now you’ll have the answers. Instructor: Rabbi Jessica Shafrin. KidZone childcare is available. Pre-registration is required.

Relay for Life Ruach Atlanta with MJCCA’s Teen Community Service (TCS)

When: Sunday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Riverside Park

Who: Teens, Grades 10 through 12

Cost: Free and open to the community

This Relay for Life event was created for the Jewish community. We will be working with the MJCCA’s Blonder Special Needs Department to set-up and prepare for the walk. Teens must be at least 15 years old to volunteer. Transportation to and from the JCC will be provided, and a pizza lunch will be served for all of the volunteers upon our return to the JCC. Pre-registration is required.

Blessing of the Pets at Brook Run Dog Park

When: Sunday, Oct. 26, Noon – 2 p.m.

Where: Brook Run Dog Park, Liane Levetan Park at Brook Run (4770 N. Peachtree Road,

Dunwoody)

Cost: Free and open to the community

All animal lovers are invited to Brook Run Dog Park for an afternoon of pet-friendly

fun. We will honor our animal companions and celebrate the important role that pets play in our lives. In addition to pet blessings, the event will include a dog carnival sponsored by Girl Scout Troop #10571, pet adoptions, local vendors, low cost vaccinations, and more. Participants are encouraged to bring their well-behaved leashed and caged pets of all varieties.

Blonder Social Bowling with MJCCA’s Teen Community Service (TCS)

When: Monday, Oct. 27, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Where: Bowlmor Atlanta at 2175 Savoy Drive, Atlanta

Who: Teens, Grades 6 through 12

Cost: $10 (pay upon arrival)

TCS and the Blonder Department for Special Needs come together for a monthly social bowling night. Have a ball (or several) while making new friends and socializing with individuals with developmental disabilities. Fee includes two games and shoe rental. Teens will earn 1 community service hour. Pre-registration is required.

Get Your Flu Shot at the MJCCA

When: Tuesday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. – Noon

Where: MJCCA at Zaban Park (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)

Cost: $25 - Cash, checks, and most major health insurance plans are accepted.

The MJCCA is happy to offer Flu Shots for the community. Seasonal flu vaccines

protect against the three influenza viruses (trivalent) that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season.

Hammond Glen Senior Community BINGO with MJCCA’s Teen Community Service (TCS)

When: Thursday, Oct. 30, 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Hammond Glen Senior Community

Who: Teens, Grades 6 through 12

Cost: Free and open to the Community

Join us for an evening of fun and BINGO with the residents of Hammond Glen Senior Community, an assisted living home located in Sandy Springs. Teens will earn 1 community service hour. Pre-registration is required.
