Amazing woman gives birth, fights attack, and starts forest fire while stranded in the woods

On Wednesday, June 24, 35-year-old Amber Pangborn experienced the most terrifying childbirth and aftermath we can imagine.

The 9-month-pregnant Californian reportedly took the back roads through Californians Plumas National Forest to visit her parents when she ran out of gas. Stranded with no cell phone service, Pangborn went into labor.

In an interview with Action News Now, Pangborn said that she "laid out a sleeping [bag] in the back seat, lied down, gripped the handle above the back window, and gave birth to [her] daughter."

The relief of the successful birth didn't last long, however, as a swarm of bees soon swarmed to the scene, attracted by the scent. As Pangborn attempted to protect Marissa, the newborn baby girl, she was stung repeatedly.

Pangborn desperately and cleverly used a lighter and hairspray to start a signal fire. She knew the flames would ignite a forest fire, but it was a life or death situation for both her baby and her. Pangborn and her baby were finally rescued on Saturday, 3 days after getting stranded.

The mother-daughter power duo are both safe and will live to tell the most insane story of how Marissa came into the world. Pangborn's brand new maternal instincts kicked in and served her family well. Bees and isolation have got nothing on this powerhouse.
