The summer is a time for relaxing at the beach, and cooking up some great BBQ with family and friends. However, be sure not forget the most important activity of all, amusement parks!

Parks across the country are opening their gates, and behind them are plenty of new rides awaiting thrill seekers. The roller coasters are getting bigger, and better yet, they also plunge faster and flip in spins previous coaster technology could only dream about.

The International Association of Amusement Parks released the list of new rides opening this year in amusement parks across the U.S.

You've got fan favorite Twisted Colossus, the Six Flags wooden roller coaster that closed in August last year. The Valencia, Calif., Six Flags ride is now supercharged and dubbed as the world's longest wooden and steel roller coaster going.

And then you have record breaking Fury 325 at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ride reaches 95 miles per hour and towers at 325 feet. Because of this, the roller coaster is the tallest and fastest coaster of the bunch.
